FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER is a carefully composed feature film as a triptych. The three stories revolve around the relationships of adult children to their sometimes distant parents and to each other. Each of the three chapters is set in the present, each in a different country: FATHER is set in the northeastern USA, MOTHER in Dublin, and SISTER BROTHER in Paris. It is a series of character studies, calm, observant, and without judgment – and at the same time a comedy, interwoven with fine threads of melancholy.
