In their work, both combine sound art and science – Vincent Barras is a professor of medicine, David Christoffel a musicologist – and they continually explore the interfaces between these two worlds and the productive interactions that arise from them. For this laboratory, they focus on language. What makes the special power of spoken words, where sound and meaning are inextricably linked? And what new forms, what surprising experiences has this interplay produced in music, art, and contemporary poetry? On November 24, 2026, at 6 p.m., we invite you to the Great Hall of Noda WKB to explore, discuss, and experiment with these questions together. The laboratories stand between both worlds; they are an open door to the world of our feelings, where your voice also counts. On stage, musicians and scientists will engage in conversation for about 75 minutes and experiment with each other to better understand the feelings that define us as humans.
