Between Mountains and Strings: The Violin of Romandie

Description

This workshop, led by violinist and educator Nathalie Recking, offers an insight into the repertoire of the oral traditions of Western Switzerland. Using dance melodies, participants explore the groove and articulation of the right hand, the ornaments, as well as the variations around the theme. Special attention is also given to intonation and irregular tunings to approach the timbres of this music.
