The Childcare Office Lucerne, together with the Foster Children Action Central Switzerland, is organizing a public film tour through all the cantons of Central Switzerland. On November 12, the event will take place in the canton of Schwyz. The Lucerne filmmaker Ursula Brunner has accompanied a foster family with her camera from 2011 to 2024. The result is a touching film that impressively shows all perspectives and aspects around growing up as a foster child in a foster family:
How did the foster child experience the time in the foster family? How does the foster child look back on it today as an adult?
How did the foster parents and the biological children of the foster parents experience living together in the foster family? And what do they say about it today as adults?
Filmmaker Ursula Brunner filmed the perspectives of the foster parents, the foster child, and the biological children of the foster family several times over the course of 15 years, and the film impressively shows the journey of all involved. With the film event, the Childcare Office Lucerne invites the general public to dive deeper into the world of a foster family – open, personal, and moving. The event also provides space for individual questions for all people who want to learn more about this form of life and family. Location, time, schedule
The film event moderated by Andy Wolf begins on November 12 at 7 p.m. at the MythenForum in Schwyz with an introduction to the topic through a conversation with filmmaker Ursula Brunner. Afterwards, the 19-minute film will be shown.
After the film screening, there will be a discussion round with guests: Government Councilor Damian Meier, filmmaker Ursula Brunner, as well as foster parents from the region and a former foster child who is now an adult.
