Description

The modern exhibition at the Bundesbriefmuseum explains the history of the Old Swiss Confederacy: the alliances of the Old Confederates, their numerous conflicts and compromises, life in the Middle Ages, and the famous battles of Morgarten or Marignano. In addition to history, the Bundesbriefmuseum also focuses on myths: Where does the story of Wilhelm Tell or the Rütli Oath come from? What can be historically proven? Simply explained and with lots of images and film material, it tells the story of the significance our myths had and still have for Switzerland. At the center is the Federal Charter of 1291, which was long considered the founding document of Switzerland.
