Description
Scottish folk is more than music – it is pulse, history, and identity. It tells stories of landscapes, people, and a vibrant culture that has been nurtured and continually reinvented for centuries. In February/March 2027, audiences can expect a special musical experience once again: four outstanding young talents – awarded in competitions such as the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award – will bring the stages in the German-speaking region to life. The Young Scots 2027 – featuring Ellie Beaton, whose expressive singing effortlessly shifts between delicate emotion and powerful storytelling; Malin Lewis, who impresses with innovative bagpipe playing and a deep sense of tradition; Sally Simpson, whose fiddle unfolds both dance-like lightness and touching intensity; and Owen Sinclair, who brings the ensemble together with fine guitar playing and rhythmic elegance. Since 2018, the tour has stood for virtuosity and the connection of tradition and modernity. Initially, the artists will showcase their strengths in solo performances, before weaving their sounds together in the second half to ignite a folk fireworks that moves both heart and soul.
