Description
Yoga & Music opens a space for concentration and physical relaxation, for silence and sound
Yoga puts people in a special state of mindfulness, in which music and sounds are perceived more intensely. This opens up spaces for creativity, new ideas, and thoughts. It enables access to classical and new music for a mixed, open-minded audience that often does not find its way to the concert hall, or encourages concert audiences to turn to yoga. The concert format begins with a 60-minute Hatha Yoga session, led by Lisa Stepf, focusing on physical relaxation and mental concentration. During yoga, balance, strength, and flexibility are trained, with breathing and mindfulness exercises integrated to promote focus and concentration. The Shavasana, the final relaxation exercise, flows seamlessly into sound – followed by a 30-minute concert by soloists or a chamber music duo, playing music from different eras and styles – for an audience lying relaxed on yoga mats.
The format is suitable for an audience aged 16 and over. Basic knowledge of yoga is desired but not necessary. Please come in comfortable/sporty clothing. Yoga mats are prepared for you or bring your own yoga mat. VIOLIN Agata Lacarczyk, Marianna Szadowiak CONCEPT AND YOGA Lisa Stepf
