Years of Denial (FR/CZ)

Description

Years of Denial is a project by French musician and producer Jerome Tcherneyan, former drummer of the cult British band Piano Magic, and Czech performer and music artist Barkosina Hanusova. The duo has been active since 2016 and has gained international recognition for their uncompromising productions and electrifying live performances. They have created their own distinctive genre, which they call Suicide Disco. Utilizing hardware instruments and a wide range of dub effects combined with Barkosina's unmistakable vocals, the duo returns to the dark corners of post-punk, goth, new beat, EBM, industrial, and rave culture. Their live performances are built on rhythmic beats and pulsating arpeggios, heavy electronics, and a psychedelic sound. The duo works with a strong performative element on the dance floor, creating an intense, unforgettable experience. Their extensive discography, primarily produced at the Ark of Noise studio, includes recordings released on labels such as Death & Leisure, Pinkman, and Veyl. The albums Suicide Disco (2019) and Suicide Disco Vol. 2 (2023) have fundamentally defined their sound and subsequently led to the release of significant remix EPs featuring contributions from Orphx, Silent Servant, and The Hacker, among others. In 2025, they released the EP Love Cuts, which connects death rock, future goth, and EBM with poetic lyrics and relentless beats. They are currently working on their third album Suicide Disco Vol. 3, set to be released in November 2026 on Veyl Records.
