Description

Yankeles is a Klezmer band from Freiburg, founded in 2011 at the University of Music, that tells 'musical stories' blending Jewish tradition, jazz, and other influences. Inspired by Yiddish music and Bessarabian lifestyle, the musicians present themselves with great joy and virtuosity. With roots in jazz and classical music, as well as influences from other sound worlds, they create 'one and a thousand music stories' — melancholic, exuberant, and danceable. A lively, authentic sound full of emotion, humor, and energy.
