Yakamoz

Description

"Kandaş and Kurtulmuş are spelled with Ş. The name on my ID is wrong." Two Zurich residents with a Turkish migration background embark on a journey between two (or even no) homelands. In this story about identity formation, identities are lost. No answers are given, but perhaps simply the right questions are asked. In this world, where racism dominates discussions as a macro theme and solutions are sought at the system or societal level, this performance gives space for the micro-questions to the individual. Ideals and goals are important, but so is reality. "Fuck off back to your shitty country!" – said directly to the face. And now? Ali Kandaş and Onur Kurtulmuş both studied acting at the Bachelor level at the Bern University of the Arts. They have already appeared in numerous productions outside the university context. Besides the stage, Ali has appeared in numerous productions in front of the camera; in the 2025/26 season, he was in the Schauspiel Studio of the Bühnen Bern. Onur could be seen at the Schauspielhaus Zürich in "My Heart is Full Of Na-Na-Na" and "Jetzt, Jetzt, Jetzt" by Suna Gürler, as well as at the Theater Freiburg – where he is part of the Schauspiel Studio for the 2026/27 season.
