BETWEEN THE CAUCASUS AND CHAOS At the beginning is a departure – not just the search for places and images, but for what moves a country deep inside.
With their camper, Bastian Maria and his family set out into a land full of contradictions and wonders: Georgia.
Over rugged mountain roads and through raging weather changes, the journey leads into the unknown. It soon becomes clear: Georgia challenges – and gives more than expected.
In Tbilisi and Batumi, worlds collide: political protests and wild nights, old sanatoriums and futuristic skylines, club beats and church choirs. A DJ shows the bubbling side of the new Georgia, while the WWF protects the last gazelles of Europe.
Between vineyards and mountain villages, they meet people who tell of ancient myths and new beginnings.
A polyphonic choir sings in dizzying harmony, a Qvevri master reveals the secret of Georgian wine amphorae, an eighty-year-old mountain doctor rides undeterred through the Caucasus, as if time has stood still.
With camera, drone, and open heart, a kaleidoscope of tradition, emotion, and humanity is created – a love letter to a land between Europe and Asia, between departure and past.
And in the end, the question remains:
