Description
"Wie im Himmel" tells the moving story of the internationally acclaimed conductor Daniel Daréus, who returns to his remote hometown after a physical collapse. There, he initially reluctantly takes over the leadership of the church choir and gradually changes the lives of the villagers. – And they change his! Through the power of music, they find community, courage, and access to their own feelings. An impressive story about how music connects people and helps them grow beyond themselves. The piece makes palpable the effort it takes to give up habits and securities. And that it is worth openly resolving conflicts and daring to start anew together. Cheerful, brave, and musical, of course! The Swedish film "Wie im Himmel" by Kay Pollak (2004) was a surprise hit and was nominated for an Oscar for best foreign language film. The tragicomedy impresses with wit, warmth, and lots of music. The story was later adapted into a musical and a theater play. Directed by: Dodó Deér
