Description
«It doesn't hurt» – Birgitta Martensson has Alzheimer's disease. As a former director of Alzheimer Switzerland, she insists that her life is still good. Marianne Pletscher and Martina Rieder create a touching portrait of autonomy, friendship, and dignity. Since she was 65, Birgitta Martensson has known she suffers from Alzheimer's – the very disease she has studied intensively for years as the head of Alzheimer Switzerland. While Birgitta bravely tries to find an answer to her illness, she is supported and accompanied by her closest friend Christiane Kühne. As the chronicler of this relentless disease, Christiane makes palpable how Birgitta and her environment endure this challenge. Over three years, Martina Rieder and Marianne Pletscher accompanied Birgitta Martensson with the camera. The result is a portrait of a strong, humorous woman who has had control her entire life and continues to fight for her self-determination until the end.
