Tailor Felix kills seven flies that are fighting over his jam sandwich – and insists on an appropriate phrasing: Seven at one stroke. As soon as it's on his belt, half the village considers him a hero. Seven robbers? Seven dragons? Doesn't matter – a hero is a hero. Then the king intervenes: A treacherous unicorn, two singing giants named Zack and Bumm, a wild boar – Felix is supposed to handle everything. Luckily, he has Marte by his side – the clever music seller who thinks along where he doesn't. Less luck with Princess Sofia: She laughs at him and finds "heroes" overrated. Felix now has to outsmart three monsters (not defeat – he's a tailor) and convince Sofia that not every hero has to be a show-off. What Mimikri makes of the fairy tale
The Grimm's Little Tailor is not presented here museally, but reimagined: Marte is an independent female main character, not a princess. Sofia has her own mind. The humor remains – Felix is a con artist with timing – but the world around him is in motion. There is a lot of singing, from the ensemble and the audience. Dancing along is allowed. Theater Mimikri from Büdingen is an award-winning children's touring theater and a regular guest at the Singen City Hall.
