What does Alaska have to do with pain, what does an okapi have to do with death, what does a Mon Chéri have to do with hidden love? ‘What can be seen from here’ is a portrait of a village, as truthful and at the same time as unreal as it could be, where everything is connected in a wondrous way. But it is above all a piece about love and death. In this production, a bookseller enthusiastically and ambitiously presents her favorite novel ‘What can be seen from here’, so much so that she herself is drawn into the story. The eccentric inhabitants of the village take possession of her, and seemingly insignificant objects suddenly come alive in her hands. In her solo evening with objects, Friederike Krahl gives the things a very special emotional power and tells, with quirky humor, unvarnished and weightless, about the existential themes of our lives.
