Description
The lecture "Film History 1: From the Cinema of Attractions to 1945" at the Department of Film Studies (University of Zurich) takes place as a public event at the Filmpodium. Daniel Wiegand and guests will cover aspects of film history from the first half of the 20th century from September to December, each Thursday afternoon: from the beginnings in the late 19th century, through key milestones of silent film era, to the transition to sound film and classic Hollywood cinema. All lectures (90 minutes, free admission) will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Daniel Wiegand — unless otherwise noted — and complemented by film programs (usual admission prices).
