Description
The lecture "Film History 1: From the Cinema of Attractions to 1945" at the Department of Film Studies (University of Zurich) takes place as a public event at the Filmpodium. Daniel Wiegand and guests will cover aspects of film history from September to December, each Thursday afternoon: from the beginnings in the late 19th century, through key milestones of silent film era, to the transition to sound film and classic Hollywood cinema. All lectures (90 minutes, free admission) will be given—unless otherwise specified—by Prof. Dr. Daniel Wiegand and complemented by subsequent film programs (usual admission prices). Lecture 6 French Impressionism Lecture by Dr. Jan Sahli Thu 29.10. 16:15 (90'), followed by the cinema concert Brumes d'automne and La glace à trois faces. A collaboration with the Department of Film Studies at the University of Zurich.
