Description
The author in conversation with Manfred Papst. Musically accompanied by musician Christian Fotsch (guitar, oud, vocals, leader of the Roma music group «Ssassa») and Omer Nevo (vocals, guitar, bass). At the Turbinenplatz in Zurich, Joshua and Jonas witness a traffic accident: a cyclist injures a young woman so severely that she is taken to the hospital with a skull brain trauma. Maryam temporarily loses her voice due to the accident, which is fatal for the singing student. When Joshua and Jonas visit Maryam, an immediate bond forms between the three. They do not yet realize how closely their lives are actually intertwined. The story spans the year 2025, divided into seasons, and takes place at various locations in Zurich, with the cloister of the Zurich Grossmünster playing a central role. Seven flashes in other cloisters across Europe complete the circle of the story. The protagonists are connected by an imaginary figure, the Revenant. Ultimately unfathomable, he unites life and death within himself, fate and grace, seeing in everyone he encounters the human and vulnerable. He is both a figure on the periphery, a presence in the corner of the eye, an oriental-spicy scent in the nose, and the focal point of the story's core message: tolerance and mutual respect, as well as maintaining hope. The book is published by Caracol VerlagHighlights
