Between witches, weapon enthusiasts, and an aspiring photographer, a goddess seeks her self-determination. The play Venus on Glass illuminates the various roles attributed to the goddess of beauty and love over the centuries. From Ishtar to Aphrodite to the Virgin Mary, Venus' history reflects the decay of beauty and bearable ambivalence in society, closely intertwined with her own fate. While Venus seeks clarity, three cursed fate goddesses conspire against her and set the weapon-loving Washington on her trail to bring Venus down once and for all. A piece about alternative beauty, attributions, and identity, which in times of militarization are questioned by the shadow of tradition.
