With Vanguardistas. 100 Years of Latin American Women Artists presents the Kunstmuseum Basel | Gegenwart for the first time in Switzerland, a large-scale overview exhibition of women artists from Latin America. In international collaboration with partner institutions in Belgium, Germany, and Finland, the exhibition brings together works by more than 70 women artists from over a century, including significant works by internationally renowned women artists such as Colombian Olga de Amaral (* 1932) and Doris Salcedo (* 1958), British-Mexican artist Leonora Carrington (1917–2011), Paraguayan Claudia Casarino (* 1974), Brazilian Lygia Clark (1920–1988), Cuban-American artists Carmen Herrera (1915–2022) and Ana Mendieta (1948–1985), Mexican Frida Kahlo (1907–1954) and Teresa Margolles (* 1963), Argentine Marta Minujín (* 1943), and Chilean Cecilia Vicuña (* 1948).
