The Urner Cantonal Livestock Shows are certainly among the most attractive livestock exhibitions in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Both at the small livestock exhibition on the first Wednesday in October and on the following Saturday at the large livestock exhibition, a very broad range of elite animals is presented. Many animals at both exhibitions are among the top at regional and national shows. These successes reflect the passion with which the Urner breeders approach their daily work with their animals. The Urner livestock exhibitions also aim to bring agriculture, its products, and traditions closer to the general public and to promote themselves.
