Description
Poverty is closer than we think. It affects people worldwide – and right in the middle of Switzerland. Often it remains invisible, but its consequences shape the everyday lives of many people: lack of opportunities, limited participation, and uncertain future prospects. For 125 years, Caritas Switzerland has been committed to fighting poverty in Switzerland and worldwide. With the anniversary project «Unequally Distributed – What Poverty Has to Do with Us», Caritas Switzerland invites you to question assumptions and understand poverty anew: personally, socially, and politically. The centerpiece of the project is an interactive anniversary exhibition, complemented by an anniversary café with a future lab and a reflection workshop for school classes and youth groups. Facts, stories, simulations, and expert inputs create space for reflection, exchange, and new perspectives. And they show that change is possible. The project takes place from September 9 to 30, 2026, in Lucerne.
