Between 1925 and 1950, through five encounters, the Argentine writer Mario Diament vividly and intensely imagines the passionate and tumultuous story of two emblematic figures of 20th-century thought.
Martin Heidegger, philosopher and thinker of the human condition and the originator of existentialism, is a philosophy professor at the University of Marburg in Germany. Among his students, the young and brilliant Hannah Arendt is fascinated by his intelligence and charisma. They share an intensely secretive relationship. But the times are troubled: the Jewish philosopher is deeply worried and revolted by the rise of Nazism, while her mentor and lover believes he sees a renewal for Germany in this movement, even risking his own position.
On stage, Sabrina Martin and Frank Semelet brilliantly portray this inner struggle between passion and responsibility. Through their gestures and words, ideas become the mirror of an internal battle, confronting conscience, memory, and the desperate attempt to understand the other.
