Holidaymakers, preoccupied with the beauties and worries of their everyday lives, encounter the girls with varying degrees of interest and indifference—until tragedy reveals the limits of their humanity. What begins as a quest for the life story of a single woman transforms into a revelation of the rich and interconnected heritage of Romani voices, songs, and cultural influence deeply rooted in traditional English folk music.
