Description
The name Antikenmuseum Basel and the Ludwig Collection stands for the largest collection of ancient cultural artefacts from all early Mediterranean cultures in Switzerland. The new permanent exhibition "Treasures of the Collection and their Stories" is dedicated to the history of the museum's origins and the most important donations that made its foundation possible and later contributed significantly to its expansion. In the largest room of the exhibition, around 50 masterpieces of Greek ceramics are presented in chronological order. One room is dedicated to provenance research. It provides an insight into the museum's internal research work, which meticulously investigates the origin of the exhibits.
