Description

The young theater Basel presents a play about six teenagers who meet in an empty school building. It addresses prejudices, labels, and the desire to truly be seen. A city without youth. At least almost without. And not forever. But now everyone is at ski camp and the school building is empty. Only six are still there. They didn't go. Were they not allowed? Didn't want to? They don't know about each other. They actually know nothing about each other. And yet they have ideas about who the others are. And quite accurately, they are wrong every time. The play addresses the desire to truly be seen. It simultaneously questions the legitimacy of the reflexive labels we impose on each other daily. Can't we endure complexity differently? Must we divide our world into opposites – right or wrong, man or woman, us or them? Maybe that was exactly the task for the six in this empty school building: to approach each other, to get to know the in-between, the ambiguous and ambivalent, and to accept the touch of others.
