Description
The Mannheim trumpeter Thomas Siffling has been one of the most prominent voices in jazz in Germany for many years.
With his new project, he now opens a fresh yet deeply rooted chapter – elegant, reduced, emotional, comprehensible, and full of groove.
Centered around clear melodies, harmonic reduction, and an atmospheric sound subtly enriched with electronic nuances. Siffling uses this freedom to showcase his qualities as an emotional and lyrical trumpeter impressively.
Inspired by the Scandinavian jazz aesthetic of Esbjörn Svensson Trio (EST) and the lyrical clarity of Miles Davis, the focus is on reduction to the essentials: beautiful themes, plenty of space for emotions, and a fine electronic touch that makes the sound modern but never overloaded.
Siffling is accompanied by a top-class trio around Frankfurt drummer Oli Rubow, Düsseldorf pianist Sebastian Gahler, and Mannheim bassist Tobias Schmitt.
The Thomas Siffling New Quartet stands for a clear sound aesthetic and cross-generational jazz: accessible but never arbitrary; demanding but always soulful. An invitation to listen, empathize, and discover – for jazz lovers as well as the curious.
