Theater Kanton Zürich

Description

A Swiss Song Evening Four people with a great love for Swiss music come together: a Swiss song evening and a theater piece are to be created – but time is short! Fortunately, a musician is already available, and a keyboard is also present. But what should they sing? Swiss dialect songs? Only two from the Swiss dialect ensemble are proficient, the others only understand Bahnhof. And what Swiss music does the troupe know at all? Quite a lot! They sing songs by Stephan Eicher, Rumpelstilz, Yello, Sophie Hunger, Polo Hofer, Züri West, Faber, To Athena, Steiner & Madlaina, Stiller Has, Patent Ochsner, Grauzone, Mani Matter, and many more. But what are all these songs without a story? That's when the brilliant idea comes to them: Wilhelm Tell! Roles are immediately assigned: Tell and his wife, their two boys, the tyrannical Landvogt Gessler, and the oppressed Swiss people. And it begins a turbulent Wilhelm Tell revue, absurdly funny and full of unexpected twists. How it will end is hardly predictable. But one thing is certain: it will be «scho no speziell».
