Description
Classic operetta Premiere on 3. 3. 2006 What happens when the princely offspring Edwin falls in love with the star of the Budapest night club Orfeum and wants to marry her against the wishes of his father, who insists he marry his niece Stazi, who has given her heart to the young Count Boni? A "classic" operetta quadrangle by the famous librettist duo Stein-Jenbach, full of Kálmán's imaginatively "danced" music! The sensational success of this operetta – the sister of the later Countess Marica and Circus Princess – became, in a sense, fateful for the thirty-three-year-old composer: Kálmán believed he would never be able to follow it up, and from that moment on, he created all his subsequent operettas under the shadow of the immortal "Gypsy Princess." We are bringing her story back to our stage for your enjoyment exactly thirty years later! The performance lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
