The Bottomline - Independent Jazz / Cinematic Trip Hop By ART Stalker

Description

The bottomline takes their listeners on a sensual, intergalactic, and virtuosic journey – hypnotic, intense, and irresistible. The Cologne duo, consisting of singer, pianist, and sound designer Franzis Lating as well as drummer and sound architect Johannes Elia Nuß, creates live moments that gradually charge up, deeply absorb, and linger. Jazz is not a genre for the bottomline, but an attitude. With casual self-assurance, urban jazz, classical elements, trip-hop, and electronic textures merge into a sound that floats, pulses, and explodes.
At the center is the voice: close, demanding, vulnerable, and powerful at the same time. The lyrics revolve around longing, responsibility, connection, and the human in a fragile present. After the debut album FORGOTTEN STARS, celebrated by audiences and the press, and numerous shows across Germany, the bottomline now presents their new live program for the second studio album (release autumn 2026), on which they push their sound even further. A duo that transforms clubs into resonance spaces – and makes their audience not only hear and dance but also feel deeply. https://thebottomline. earth/
