She is hungry. And curious. She combines courage, fear, longing, and chaos. Wildness is followed by immense tenderness. One wants to immerse oneself in her music; to feel sheltered, comforted, and loved. At least for a few breaths. ELSA – is the four-piece band of singer and songwriter Elsa Steixner. Growing up in an artist's household in Vienna, she embodies an openness that is also reflected in her music. "Her distinctive voice immediately grabs the listener's attention upon first encounter with her repertoire. She creates an immediate trust, yes, she hypnotizes so that one cannot help but listen to her stories." (Samir H. Köck, Die Presse) With her second album JUMP!, the band takes a leap into new sound worlds. It features songs that oscillate between catchiness and mystery, between intuition and musical finesse. On stage, the extraordinary chemistry among the four musicians becomes physical. The great trust among them creates space for freedom, genuine vulnerability, and... mischief! With an incredible sensitivity to dynamics, they stretch songs, challenge, even provoke almost through deliberate silence, before making clear with unexpected force and urgency: this is a band that means business. With several awards, a nomination for the Austrian Amadeus Music Awards (AT), the audience award at the Jazz Festival Avignon (FR), and a selection for the largest Dutch showcase festival Popronde (NL), ELSA has built a strong international presence and tours regularly across Europe. In 2025, the band played concerts in renowned venues such as Porgy & Bess in Vienna, the Vienna Concert Hall, and as part of the Vienna Festival, as well as recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London.
