Developing satellites yourself – From university to space How do student ideas turn into real satellites in space? CubeSats are shoe-box-sized satellites that are gaining increasing importance in space exploration. At the University of Stuttgart, students develop, build, and operate two CubeSat missions alongside their studies. Like major missions, they must control their position, operate payloads, detect and fix errors, and communicate with ground stations. At TECHNOarena, you will see how hardware and software are created and how components are tested and qualified for space missions based on the same fundamental principles as ESA missions. With Kaja Gebhard, Lea Riesch, Ruben Hamm, Jannik Ertl-Schatz (KSat Stuttgart) The TECHNOarena Late Shift offers tech enthusiasts the opportunity for personal and interactive exchange with researchers about future technologies currently under development.
