Description

TAR POND is a Swiss 'anti-supergroup' of Doom’n’Gloom formed in 2015, bringing together legends of heavy music and art, including Celtic Frost bassist Martin Ain (deceased in 2017), former Coroner drummer and lyricist Marky Edelmann, and scratchboard artist Thomas Ott. Their music describes itself as the 'soundtrack of brutality'. Their first album, Protocol Of Constant Sadness, recorded in 2016-2017 at New Sound Studios with producer Tommy Vetterli (guitarist of Coroner), was delayed by the tragic death of Martin Ain in October 2017. In tribute to his legacy, the album was finally released in 2020. The music video for the first single, 'Please', was shot in 8mm by Thomas Ott and Marky Edelmann during a trip to New Mexico, as part of a Louis Vuitton travel journal project on Route 66, edited with the help of Gion-Reto Killias. True to their unconventional spirit, TAR POND performed their first two concerts, both sold out, at Kino Roland, an iconic adult cinema in Zurich. Their second album, PETROL, was released on September 15, 2024, by Prophecy Productions, preceded by the singles 'SLAVE' and 'BLIND'. It was also recorded and mixed by Tommy Vetterli at New Sound Studios. Impure Wilhelmina hails from the Geneva alternative scene and has been forging a unique style blending metal and dark progressive rock since 1996. The quartet has gained a loyal audience across Europe with a notable discography, including I Can’t Believe I Was Born in July (2003) and Antidote (2021), under the Season of Mist label. Continuously renewing their approach, the band releases their new album, Le sanglot, in 2026. This work marks a radical turning point with entirely French lyrics, performed by the current lineup: Michael Schindl (guitar, vocals), Edouard Nicod (guitar), Sébastien Dutruel (bass), and Mario Togni (drums). A worthy heir to Failure, Quicksand, and Cave In, Untitled With Drums establishes itself as THE prodigy of a French rock scene in need of risk-taking, often reduced to a dullness without relief. Noticed at Hellfest 2022, Nuits de Fourvière supporting legendary Deftones, and at London’s Desertfest, the Clermont-Ferrand quartet pushes its hybrid of alt rock and 90s post-hardcore to new heights on Made Flesh. Recorded and mixed under Cyrille Gachet’s guidance (Fange, Year Of No Light, The Great Old Ones...) and mastered by Alan Douches (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die).
