Tanz in Bern: Lia Rodrigues Companhia de Danças «Borda»

Description

SUN 25.10.26 18:00 MON 26.10.26 20:00 Duration: approx. 70 minutes Language: no spoken language, partly singing Sensory notes: loud noises Content notes: None The Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues is one of the most significant voices in contemporary dance in Latin America. For over twenty years, she has combined her artistic work with social engagement in Favela da Maré in Rio de Janeiro. In «Borda» – Portuguese for edge – Rodrigues rethinks boundaries: as dividing lines, transitions, and places of encounter. She creates a poetic fabric between reality and imagination on stage from bodies, fabrics, and movements. Dampfzentrale: Few can convincingly evoke as much vitality from vulnerability as Lia Rodrigues. «Borda» touches people because the wonderful dancers, with their movements and graceful textiles, form new communities on stage – fragile, contradictory, and full of beauty. You leave the hall with the certainty that coexistence is not an ideal but something we must constantly recreate. On October 26, following the performance Discussion with Edwin Ramirez.
