Description
Tannhäuser lived for seven years in the dream world of the Venusberg, but even the return to the sensory-hostile society of Wartburg brings no fulfillment. Pilgriming between worlds, he is homeless. The Icelandic director Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, known for his intense interpretations of mythical themes and great narratives, stages "Tannhäuser" as an existential identity drama and surreal journey into the inner self of a person. Wagner condensed the search for meaning and support in a world that seems to be slipping away into a philosophical world description.
