DANCE & MUSIC The atmosphere in the vault of Bern's old town creates a special experience where music, ambiance, and dance merge into an inseparable unity. An event that has evolved from a secret tip to a cult event and is, not least, the best place to say goodbye to the old week and get ready for the upcoming one. Lindy Hop is a dynamic, down-to-earth partner dance from 1930s America. Lindy Hop was first danced in Harlem, New York, to Big Band Swing music. The originally African-American dance and precursor to Boogie Woogie and Jitterbug fell into obscurity after World War II and was rediscovered only in the 1980s. Today, more and more people are gaining access to this dance, where joy is more important than skill. In dialogue with the dance partner and the music, creativity and improvisation know no bounds. Lindy Hop is usually danced at ONO on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM with DJ Tom. More info: www.swingmachinebern.ch
