Four generations under one roof never bodes well, especially when the Hanáks are not quite normal. Grandma murders everyone around her and writes detective stories that no one ever publishes. Mom Cilka loves opera arias, and Dad Oldřich is only interested in turtles. Their daughter Pavla passionately practices yoga, while her husband Petr prefers reading the newspaper, eating, or sleeping. The youngest family members – little rascals – delight in concocting mischief. And Kačenka is preparing to introduce her fiancé Zdeněk to the family. The comedy “Such a Normal Family” was created in 1971 as a television story. After its enormous success, seven more sequels were made. The authors unknowingly created the first Czech sitcom, inspired by American television comedies. Duration of the performance: 115 minutes with an intermission.
