Description
What happens when hands suddenly no longer do what they have been doing for centuries? When a body gets out of rhythm and leaves someone in the lurch? In this stage play, the theme of chronic illness is cleverly woven together with the world of textile handicrafts: the steady rhythm of knitting needles, the recurring stitch in joints, knots and tears, patience, capitalist implications, and possibilities of resistance. Between spoken word and fine storytelling, an evening about health and work, pain and care, and the question of how our society deals with bodies that get entangled. Sarah Altenaichinger spins yarn and delicate bonds. And takes all the threads into her hands.
