Lecture, reading, and discussion The newly published novel The Forester (edited by Stefan Hess, Chronos, 2025) is considered the main work of the Lucerne writer, priest, and high school teacher Josef Vital Kopp (1906–1966). It is about District Forester Hadrian Ess, who increasingly loses his bearings in a rigid forestry operation. Kopp's estate is located in the Nidwalden State Archives.
