The fascinating natural spectacle around the legendary Martinsloch takes place again in autumn: On September 29 and 30, 2026, the sun shines through the rock window onto the village center of Elm. It is a magical spectacle when the sun, shortly before the actual sunrise, casts its rays through the Martinsloch onto the tower of the only late Gothic church in the Glarus region. The event lasts only about 5 minutes, then the sun disappears, only to rise definitively over the Tschingelhörner shortly thereafter. For two days, this play of light and shadow can be observed, and with a bit of luck with the weather, the sun shines exactly at 09:29 on September 29, 2026, directly onto the church of Elm. On September 30, 2026, the event repeats at 09:32. This time the sun rays pass over the church. MEETING POINT
