CLASSIC MEETS METAL Sonata Arctica and Rage come for a double headliner show in Pratteln. As if that weren't reason enough to pilgrimage to Z7 on May 1, 2027, they are offering an absolute premiere this time: Sonata Arctica will perform for the first time with an orchestra on stage as part of the 'Symphonic Domination Tour 2027'. Our record guests Rage are not only celebrating their 25th appearance at Z7 but also the 30th anniversary of their legendary classical metal monumental work 'XIII'. Sonata Arctica: Power metal with an unmistakable sense for captivating melodies and anthemic song structures that become addictive at first listen. These are the typical trademarks with which Sonata Arctica has delighted the metal world for three decades. 2025 and 2026 were entirely dedicated to their 30th anniversary tour. In 2027, the Finns will open a new chapter in their glorious career. For the first time, the band will tour with an orchestra. Founded in the mid-90s, Sonata Arctica quickly became a guarantee for the finest melodic metal, bursting with joy and energy. The anthemic voice of Tony Kakko and his exquisite knack for catchy numbers with exorbitant hit potential give the sound its special touch. Eleven masterpieces have been created in the last three decades. Stylistically, Sonata Arctica has never hesitated to try new paths - from classic melodic metal to more progressive excursions - ultimately connecting the best of many sound worlds. Each album has its own charm, yet Sonata Arctica has always remained true to themselves. With their creativity, the band has significantly influenced and shaped the genre. And now they are coming to Pratteln for the first time with a classical orchestra to give their sound a whole new dimension. Rage: In contrast to Sonata Arctica, Rage has been skilled for many years in the fine combination of metal music with classical orchestra. With 'Lingua Mortis', the band released their first classical metal crossover album over 30 years ago. The beginnings of the formation from the Ruhr area date back over four decades. Four decades in which singer and bassist Peter 'Peavy' Wagner has experienced an unparalleled metal career - from humble beginnings in the early 80s with the debut 'Prayers of Steel', then still under the name Avenger, through the flourishing 90s and highlights such as the excursions into the world of classical music with the Lingua Mortis Orchestra, the third place at Stefan Raab's 'Bundesvision Songcontest' in 2008, to the recent release 'A New World Rising' with the current formation around Jean Bormann (guitar), Stefan Weber (guitar), and Vassilios 'Lucky' Maniatopoulos (drums). Equipped with an extensive studio back catalog, various live releases, compilations, and DVDs, Peavy looks back on a metal history in which the mastermind has continually reinvented himself with his countless creative visions. In 2027, our record rockers will once again bring a 'Classic meets Metal' show to the Z7 stage for the round anniversary of the 'XIII' album.
