Description

The fact that women in Switzerland have only been able to vote and participate in elections for just over 50 years is not funny. However, the women who have been taking the offensive for women's rights and freedom of expression every year since 2018 as Sisters of Comedy are funny, amusing, touching, and inspiring. They perform in over 30 theaters in Germany—and at the Cappella in Bern. Lisa Brunner from Lucerne is active in the Swiss cultural scene as a theater musician, slam poet, singer, actress, composer, and educator. In March 2026, she presented her new solo program "You Might Also Like" at the Cappella. The two sisters, Evelyn & Kristina Brunner—recently awarded the Thun Culture Prize—have been playing together since early childhood; no wonder they are as synchronized as rarely a formation. The sisters received their own Swiss accordion early on and developed a strong passion for traditional Swiss folk music. Later, they added string instruments, and today the two musicians confidently switch from Swiss accordion to cello, double bass, and back, enchanting the audience. Those who know their music know: it is always surprising, sometimes melancholic and serious, sometimes funny and full of mischief. Heidi Maria Glössner was born in southern Germany and grew up in Uzwil near St. Gallen. Over 55 years of theater, she has played countless roles across the entire theater literature, sung major musical parts, performed chanson evenings, and organized readings, also happily accompanying musical ensembles. She has appeared in numerous cinema and television films (e.g., in the successful film "Die Herbstzeitlosen," see page 33). From 1987 to 2008, Heidi Maria Glössner was part of the ensemble of the Staatstheater and, regardless of which stage she performs on, is one of the Bernese audience's favorites. Patron: Journalist and moderator Bigna Silberschmidt. Supported organization: UZH Foundation (Personalized Medicine). Moderation: Carol Fuhrer, La Cappella.
