And since he performed on stage as a delicate sprout at 15, he now looks back on three and a half decades as an attentive observer and eloquent regular at the pub. How does he see himself, his profession, and his environment? How does one deal with the signs of diminishing youth and increasing diopter? How does one stay on course in the wild waters of the present? How much future is still in there? Nobody knows. Enzler paddles. And he has been doing so for years. But that exactly gives him confidence. Because even if a rower inevitably looks backward, he still moves forward.
