Advent tours of the castle with the magical atmosphere of the night. Come experience the unique Advent atmosphere at the castle! We invite you to tours of the first floor of the castle, after dark, accompanied by an engaging guide's commentary. When darkness falls and the castle rooms are illuminated by candlelight and small lights, it's time for Advent tours with an unforgettable atmosphere. Join us in the magic of Christmas from the past and discover how Advent and the arrival of the holidays were prepared at the castle. In the evening, in the silence of the castle interiors and by the flickering candlelight, you will learn how Christmas was celebrated in the past, who was behind the tradition of the Advent wreath and Christmas tree, what could not be missing from the festive table, or what gifts the nobility exchanged. You will also glimpse Christmas customs and traditions from various corners of the world and discover more interesting facts about castle life during Advent. A small Christmas hunt awaits you as well. In each room, a golden piglet is hidden! Tradition says that those who fast on Christmas Eve will see the golden piglet – mentions of this custom can be found as early as the 16th century. In Opočno, you can try this tradition a little differently. During the tour, you will search for all the hidden piglets. Those who find them all will receive a small sweet reward at the end. Treat yourself to an Advent evening differently. Enter the castle after dark, let yourself be guided by the light of candles and lights, and discover Christmas through the eyes of those who celebrated it long before us. You will experience the scent of history, the magic of the night castle, and a festive atmosphere that takes on a completely different dimension in candlelight.
