Shakespeare's Richard III meets The Rolling Stones

We bring together the king of English drama and the kings of English rock 'n' roll: Richard III - the archetypal 'bad boy' of world literature. The Rolling Stones – the 'bad boys' of rock. In our musical theater piece, we try to bring clarity to Shakespeare's complex story with lots of humor and lightness: Richard III is a game in which all characters are interchangeable. These characters are played with puppets in our piece. There is war; the famous Wars of the Roses between two English noble houses, both from the same lineage. Established structures are dissolved. Families conspire not only against other families but also against their own: The uncle wants to marry his niece and kills two brothers to propose to their sister, after he previously took the widow of the heir to the throne, whom he also had murdered. It’s easy to lose track of who Richard has on his conscience. Richard III clearly shows how people are manipulated and how puppets are led through history. The power games of the historical figures are powerfully accompanied by the music of the Stones.
