The story of the swan princess Odette is known worldwide: a young prince's son is supposed to marry to preserve the dynasty. However, Prince Siegfried unfortunately does not fall in love with one of the intended young ladies but with a magical foreign girl, to whom he swears eternal loyalty. The beautiful Odette is cursed with an evil spell and can only assume a human form for a few hours at night. The magician Rotbart then appears with his own daughter in the form of Odette at a lively castle festival to deceive the prince. The blinded prince unintentionally breaks his vow of loyalty. When he realizes this, he asks for forgiveness, which is granted to him. In the end, he even defeats the evil sorcerer himself, making the triumph of love complete.
