Description

More than a successful production – a love letter to the magic of theater. The old, worn-out comedian Svetlovidov falls asleep drunk in his dressing room after the performance, his last. Now he wanders the empty stage at night. He is joined by the young prompter Ivanyc, who has no home and secretly uses the theater as a sleeping place. With him, the old actor reflects on his life – a rather sad life balance. He thinks aloud about the great roles of world literature and makes the young Ivanyc his playmate in times of need. Over time, the game between the old Svetlovidov and Ivanyc turns into a conflict-laden father-and-son relationship. The authority of 'Father' Svetlovidov erodes in the face of the resistance of 'Son' Ivanyc. Gaps of misunderstanding, mutual rejection, and disappointment open up between them. The old man's time seems inexorably to be coming to an end, so that the boy can take his place. Ivanyc seizes his chance – with the means of theater!
