Our theater bar is open for you after the performance! Christmas is just around the corner, everyone wants to do it especially well and fails with lots of comedy. The exceptional state of Christmas makes family and social conflicts visible like under a magnifying glass, and for those involved, many things go wrong in their fight for reflection – but sometimes hope appears exactly where you least expect it… Axel Pape presents stories by renowned authors Alexander Osang and Robert Gernhardt, humorously and poetically complemented by short passages of poetry from Rilke to Ringelnatz and from the sometimes protesting “dear God”. The typical setting is Christmas Berlin, musical accents come from Nat King Cole, Pink Martini, Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith, the Pogues, and others. Thus, the evening develops its own emotional Christmas story and closes with humor and depth the gap between the anticipatory Christmas feeling of our childhood and the modern pitfalls of the annual Christmas machinery. “Cozy, funny, poetic, satirical: ideal.
