Description

Brig-Glis will receive the Wakker Prize in 2026 because the municipality actively and courageously thinks beyond merely preserving its architectural and cultural heritage. Historical buildings, modern uses, quality architecture, and a conscious approach to public space demonstrate how history, present, and future can be meaningfully connected.
The Stockalper Palace embodies this sustainable strategy of mindful engagement. The municipality warmly invites the public to explore its architectural landmark through three engaging journeys:
10:30 AM – Reception of guests in the castle courtyard
Welcome by the municipality of Brig-Glis and the Swiss Foundation for the Stockalper Palace
10:45 AM – Children's workshop with Alejandra Martin and Carina Pousaz
The young castle visitors will embark on a creative discovery journey filled with sound, movement, and imagination.
10:45 AM – Cultural podium in the knights' hall with Priska Dellberg, Karim Habli, and Olivier Imboden
A critical discussion journey with Upper Valais guests: Cultural and Wakker City Brig-Glis – Cultural Land Valais, moderated by Marie-Claude Schöpfer
11:30 AM – Concert matinee under the arcades with Franziska Heinzen and Clara Parolini
A sonorous musical journey from Stockalper's times to the modern era: a dynamic repertoire featuring baroque pieces, modern sounds, and rock pop.
Afterwards, the municipality of Brig-Glis invites you to an aperitif.
For lunch, the Restaurant Schlosskeller will serve a Brisolée and a children's menu for our youngest guests.
