«Schillernde Blasen» | 45 minutes with Simone Lappert

Writer Simone Lappert responds to the exhibition «Schillernde Blasen. Friedrich Glauser – Nando von Arb» and reads her own texts. Simone Lappert, Nando von Arb, and Friedrich Glauser are connected by the common theme of fear. The focus of Lappert's debut novel «Wurfschatten» (Metrolit 2014) is actress Ada, whose everyday life increasingly spirals out of control due to fears and panic attacks: From A like Attentat to Z like Zyste – Ada fears for her life. Nando von Arb (*1992) depicts in the graphic novel «Fürchten lernen» (Edition Moderne 2023) different experiences of fear that concern him and his generation. And Friedrich Glauser (1896–1938) recounts in «Damals in Wien» (1938) his childhood, marked by the early death of his mother and an overpowering father. Together with the visitors, Simone Lappert moves through the exhibition, offers her own perspectives on the topics discussed, and lets excerpts from her works sound. Simone Lappert (*1985) studied Literary Writing at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel. Today she lives and works as a freelance author in Zurich. After her debut novel, she has published another novel and a poetry collection (Diogenes 2019/2022) and contributed texts to various anthologies. Additionally, she is involved in different art projects both literarily and performatively and conducts literary workshops. The event is part of the festival Zürich liest 2026. The exhibition is open before and after the event: from 1 pm to 4 pm.
